footfall two

bridge recordings, live electronics, 9:38 (2003)

Footfall Two is a remix of sounds recorded for Jodi Rose’s “Singing Bridges” project in which recordings of bridges from around the world form the basis for a number of urban soundscape compositions. For this remix recordings of the F60 coal mining bridge (Lausitz, Germany), the Hoi An bridge (Vietnam), the Maatinkaari bridge (Helsinki, Finland), the Schwederstrasse bridge (Berlin, Germany), the Novy Most bridge (Bratislava), and the Millennium Footbridge (London, England) were used. The recordings are heard at slightly varying speeds and are fed into a combination of delay lines and filters. For more information on the Singing Bridges project see www.singingbridges.net.
